The Road to Sydney

Putty Road winds from the Upper Hunter Valley down into Sydney. It is a gorgeous drive; though heavily frequented by semi-trucks. We spent much of the drive sandwiched between a Postal Truck and a fruit transport truck. There were about eleven trucks in our line; I was pleased to be between two not-so-smelly trucks. I am sorry that we have no pictures of the drive. At every pull-out, I had visions of Joey and I being buried under a mountain of Aussie mail, with six other trucks obout to overrun us. Needless to say, I never took a turn-out. So, you will have to take our word that it was a lovely drive.

Our first visit to Sydney was a retread of our first visit to Wellington, without the rain. We made a quick stop in Sydney, staying in Manly Beach, so that we could stop by the Indian Embassy. The Indian Embessy in Sydney is a busy, busy place. After our excellent luck with the Chinese Embassy, we did not arrive at the Indian Embassy until an hour after the doors had opened. We took a number (114) and proceeded to sit and wait, and wait, and wait. Luckily, we were early enough to get seats and the people watching was quite entertaining. Our visit to the counter was short and hopefully we will have our visas in early February.
