Your turn
We are headed to Laos tomorrow, so we will be out of touch for a day or so while we are in transit. As you can see, we have caught up with our posts and now we have a favor to ask. We have been checking our site traffic, and we can tell where some visitors are coming from but we don't know who all of you are (for example, we have no idea who our frequent visitor from New Jersey is).
So, we would like it very much if you could post a comment. You don't have to post much, just say hi and let us know who you are and maybe where you are from. Simply click on the "comments" link at the bottom of this post, and you are set. You don't have to register, you can just select the option to add your name (select the option that says "other").
I will post the first comment to provide an example. We look forward to hearing from you all.

Hi All,
These comments will be used in three ways:
- to combat homesickness
- to find out who is visiting
- as a record of our visitors in many years from now when we are reflecting on our journey
Hello,
You can also use the "anonymous" option as long as you give us some clue as to who you are. For example, we could probably figure out MOH (Maid of Honor) but BSILINW (Best Sister-in-Law in the World) is a little hard to pin down. Thanks for playing along!
So, if I'm in the process of morphing from FOTB to FOTG you will figure it out? What if I just increase by one letter each month? (i.e., FOTC, FOTD, etc.)
This is Bill - from Seattle. If this post is going into some time capsule for when you two are old and reminding each other to take your prescription medicine, then I'd better say something profound, so "Here's to peace on Earth through travel!" When Lora and I said our wedding vows we agreed always to travel together and come home again together. There is nothing like travel to build memories as you two are doing now.
On a far less profound note, I hope when Joey reads this in 50 years, I'm sitting next to him in a bar buying him a beer... or better yet, telling him how remarkable he looks in bike shorts, even at 85.
I haven't checked the blog for a couple of weeks, and then somehow I decided to this morning before school. Karma? Maybe. Procrastination? Much more likely.
Somehow I think your bad karma is related to Brewer's previous trip to Thailand. I'm not sure what he did, but I'll call him today and find out. Maybe he can do some sort of ritual dance. If he does, I'll videotape it and post it so you can see it.
I'm sorry you're having probs, but they'll only be temporary, and things will swing around. That's the point of karma, right? We're all pulling for you out here. I even ran into Jeff and Lavie (sp?, sorry!) at Red Mill and we talked about the blog. So you're famous! Hang in there, and I'll try to post/email more frequently.

I read daily. I think I'm more addicted to your travel storeies than I am tequila, but it is still too close to call that race. Lavinia and I miss you way too much (I'm sure that won't help the homesickness at all). Whenever we head to Luisa's we want to call y'all for a meal.
I'll keep my blog going to aid you in the homesick worries.
I share you blog with many friends. The gang at Adobe (Paul, Jason and Molly) all say hello! My buddy Jason says hello as well.
Thanks for being safe on the travels and diligent in posting.
Hopefully I'll be in that bar with you and Bill and he'll finish the sentence that you look good in bike shorts at 85, but Jeff looks amazing (grin)
Cheers,
Jeff & Lavi
Hi guys. I've been enjoying your blog - my favorite comment so far was the one when you first arrived in China and I think it was Joey who said something like 'its quite different' - this made me lol
Sorry you're having a few problems - I guess its all part of the life experience - there are always going to be ups and downs when you're away from friends and family for so long.
Looking forward to seeing you when you get to Europe - I think we allow Americans to stay for 3 months in the UK :o).

Hi from Oregon!!
I love reading your blog. I feel like I am taking a class in geography and world culture. I usually read about once a week and catch up. I am way behind on looking at your photos, so I will spend some time looking at those. I'm sorry about your bad karma, but I am glad you are both safe and healthy. Love Aunt Shell
Hi Joey and Erin! I am loving the blog and oh so jealous. One day I'll take a trip around the world too. But until then, I'll just live vicariously through you two. Love and blessings to you both! -Dena
