Caucusing

Erin and I went to our local Democratic caucus today. It was a very interesting political experience. Neither of us have been to a caucus before, but it appeared that the crowd was more than the planners expected. We were also impressed with how many folks with kids in attendance. What an excellent way for children to experience the election process!

It felt very historic, and I don't think it was entirely caused by the location - The Oddfellows Hall in Ballard!

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is tomorrow, but we celebrated on Saturday nite. We ate Jambalaya & Red Beans and rice. We had pralines and roasted pecans. There were Hurricanes and Mint Juleps. I ate way too much, but I had a ball!

We set-up the mirror above our fireplace with dry erase markers, and let folks list the items they plan to give up for lent this year. Some of the vices listed are as follows:

  • Illegal HOV lane driving
  • Shaving
  • Catholocism
  • Paris Hilton
  • 'meat'
  • Abstinence
